Rental Guidelines

At Gypsy Wind, maintaining a 5 Star experience for our guests is the first priority. To accomplish that we have designed House Rules to help keep the home and amenities to the highest standards. These rules allow our staff to manage the property while providing the guest services for you and your guests. After reading the guidelines below and agreeing to our terms then proceed to our reservation request to secure your time at Gypsy Wind. Please understand that no reservation is confirmed until you speak directly with Linda. We do this to make sure our home and North Captiva Island will meet your expectations for a wonderful vacation retreat.

1 Week Minimum

The home has a 7-day minimum requirement for booking. We have this policy so that we attract guests who are committed to a relaxing stay and are not simply interested in a 'party' weekend.

Sunday to Sunday

Most of North Captiva Island renters arrive and depart on Saturday so to provide our guests with the attention and experience in-keeping with our standards, we have a Sunday check-in and check-out.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in is 4:00pm, you may arrive on the island earlier, and we will greet you at the dock, take your luggage, and if available provide you with a golf cart. Check-out is promptly at 9:00am

8 Adults

Gypsy Wind is a family destination and we limit the total number of adults staying at the property to 8. An Adult is anyone 18 years or older. We do this to avoid large gatherings and to respect our neighbors who live on the island.

Deposit & Damage Protection

Gypsy Wind requires a $5,000 deposit on a credit card to be held until the final walk-thru of the property at checkout. Any damages or fees will be subtracted from this deposit if necessary.

60-Day Cancellation

If guests need to cancel a reservation, we provide a full refund if the cancellation is more than 60 days from the start of your stay. After 60 days there are no refunds offered.

Insurance

We highly recommend purchasing the Travel Insurance available through our online booking system. This may protect you if you need to cancel within the 60-day window. Please read the terms & conditions carefully.

Taxes

Florida and Lee County require an 11.5% tax on the total home rental charge.
